The Opportunity
Exigent Risk is seeking a versatile Political Risk Analyst to support its Nairobi-based office conduct country risk assessments, political research, deliver client reporting, and maintain analytical tools. The ideal candidate has established experience as a political analyst covering emerging markets in Africa, particularly EAC and West African countries.
This role requires curiosity, a capacity to learn, and an ability to write about complex political and economic subjects in commercial settings. Successful candidates will already possess basic knowledge of key political, economic, trade, and geostrategic dynamics across Africa and a desire to apply knowledge to grow Exigent’s practice areas.
We are looking for candidates with the following experience:
BA or BS degree from accredited university in political science, international relations, diplomacy, economics, history, or related disciplines
Two years professional work experience in political analysis, security analysis, economics research, risk management, or similar specialist roles
Demonstrable ability to apply political economy analysis to dynamic, emerging, and complex problems across diverse geographies in Africa
Ability to maintain good attitude in a fast-moving and deadline-driven environment requiring intensive reading, writing, and research
Undergo and retain extensive training in Exigent products, analytical methods, research standards, and writing style
International education or travel experience is highly desired

The successful candidate will be able to conduct macroeconomic research independently, support the broader team by identifying quality economic data, deliver on client research questions, and maintain analytical tools. The ideal candidate has established experience as a macroeconomic analyst covering emerging markets in Africa, particularly EAC and West African countries.

Exigent Risk is seeking versatile Due Diligence Research Analysts to support its Nairobi-based office conduct structured and unstructured diligence research on companies, entities, persons of interest, investment opportunities, and markets. Successful candidates will be highly efficient in database queries, internet-based research, sanctions lists, legal research, and document management.
This role requires a great deal of patience, organization, and time management especially under tight deadlines. Due Diligence Research Analysts should have exposure to financial institutions, law firms, or enterprise development functions.
We are looking for candidates with the following experience:
BA or BS degree from accredited university in any liberal arts or business discipline including law, political science, commerce, finance, or administration
Two years professional work experience in research, banking, compliance, KYC, enterprise development, law, or legal research
Demonstrable experience in database research, compliance reporting, due diligence, investment management, or legal research
Ability to maintain good attitude in a fast-moving and deadline-driven environment requiring intensive reading, writing, and research
Undergo and retain extensive training in Exigent products, analytical methods, research standards, and writing style
International education or travel experience is highly desired
